Murciélago R-GT

The Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT is a Gran Turismo racing car of the GT1 group developed by Reiter Engineering and the Audi sports department. As the successor to the Lamborghini Diablo GT built by Reiter Engineering in 2000, the Murciélago R-GT was developed and built in 2003. The car was presented to the public for the first time in 2003 at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main. Nine R-GT were produced, in order to comply with the different motorsport rules.

In order to comply with the regulations of the FIA and ACO, the engine was reduced to six liters and its output was throttled by an air flow limiter. The body was built from black, carbon fiber reinforced plastic and then coated with clear varnish. All R-GT are rear-wheel drive.
